Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has pledged to increase the company’s investment in China. During a meeting in Beijing with Jin Zhuanglong, China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Cook expressed his commitment to the Chinese market.
“We are eager to tap into the opportunities that China’s opening up presents,” Cook said. “Apple will continue to invest more in the country, contributing to the development of high-quality industrial and supply chains.”
This marks Cook’s second trip to China this year. China is the world’s largest smartphone market, and Apple has recently been facing stiff competition from local smartphone manufacturers.
The meeting covered several important topics, including Apple’s growth in China, online data security management, and cloud services. Minister Jin encouraged Apple to deepen its presence in China, invest more in innovation, collaborate with Chinese companies, and share the benefits of high-quality development.
Apple has not yet responded to requests for further comment on the meeting.
