In just three days, bomb threats have targeted 19 flights, causing security to tighten and flights to be delayed across the country.

Ram Mohan Naidu, India’s Civil Aviation Minister, expressed deep concern over the recent surge in bomb threats affecting both domestic and international flights. In a strong statement, he called these threats “unlawful acts” meant to disrupt aviation safety. He emphasized that passenger safety is the top priority and swift action will be taken to prevent further disturbances.

In one case, a minor was arrested by Mumbai Police for threatening three flights. Authorities are investigating others who might be involved.

On October 14, Minister Naidu held a meeting with key officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to discuss steps to deal with these threats.

Most of the threats have been hoaxes, but they still caused panic and inconvenienced many travelers. Airports have increased security, and intelligence agencies are working to find those responsible. A case has been filed by Delhi Police, showing how seriously the situation is being treated.

The Civil Aviation Secretary assured a parliamentary committee that those behind the hoax threats will be identified and prosecuted.

While the threats have turned out to be false, authorities are not taking any chances. Security checks at airports have increased, and airlines are working closely with the government to ensure the safety of all passengers.

Naidu urged the public to stay vigilant and assured everyone that all steps are being taken to prevent further disruptions.
