In a significant event, top leaders from the India Alliance and Chief Ministers from various states are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony in Jammu and Kashmir. This ceremony is the first of its kind for the Union Territory and will be an opportunity for the India Alliance to demonstrate its unity and strength.
According to reports, the India Alliance sees the victory of the NC-Congress coalition as a defeat of the BJP’s divisive policies. As a result, the NC is reaching out to prominent India Alliance leaders, including Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal might also be invited. These invitations are being extended by NC chief Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who is preparing the guest list. Once the date for the ceremony is set, all leaders will be formally invited.
There is also speculation that the President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir could be lifted soon. Sources suggest that the Union Cabinet may make a recommendation to end President’s rule in a meeting scheduled in New Delhi. The Prime Minister could also recommend this to the President ahead of the cabinet’s decision, and approval could follow swiftly. A final decision may come as early as Monday.
This event is seen as a critical moment for the India Alliance to showcase its solidarity and present a united front.
